I make coats, dresses, evening and bridal wear for women who are tired of altering, compromising and apologising for clothes that don’t fit. Every piece is cut for the body you have today, and made to keep fitting as it changes.

Where it began
I grew up in Baveno, on the shore of Lake Maggiore, where my mother Teresa ran her home atelier for nearly forty years. She was a couturière who never once asked a woman to fit the pattern. She made the pattern fit the woman. That is the principle I have worked by ever since.
What I learned
After studying fashion in Milan, I came to London and trained as a tailor on Savile Row under Tommy Nutter. I continued my studies at the Central School of Fashion and Central Saint Martins, then opened my own atelier on Bond Street and later a boutique in Sloane Square.
For more than twenty years after that, I worked as a designer and product developer for luxury, premium and high-street brands. I saw, season after season, what happens when fit and making come second to production costs. Clothes are cut for an average body that nobody actually has, and women are left to believe the fault is theirs.
Why I work this way now
So I went back to my mother’s way of working. Today I make each piece by hand from my atelier at 7 Chiltern Street in Marylebone, using wools, silks and cashmere from mills in Italy, France and the UK. Nothing is made until we have met, and nothing leaves until it is right.
